History (1991): New Toshiba HDD Factory in Japan
To produce 50,000 2.5-inch or 3.5-inch units per month in 1992, increasing to 100,000 per month in 1994

It will produce 50,000 2.5-inch or 3.5-inch HDDs per month in 1992, increasing to 100,000 per month in 1994.
Additionally, Toshiba plans to increase HDD production from 10,000 to 70,000 per month in its Ome factory.
Toshiba also plans to build its first US disk drive plant in San Jose, CA. The company expects to hire 350 workers.
