City of Oakland Selecting Motorola Solutions Software

Motorola Solutions, Inc. announced that City of Oakland, CA selected its PremierOne CAD Software‘s DRaaS solution to help ensure the resilience of its computer-aided dispatch (CAD) operations in the event of a disaster.

A CAD system enables emergency dispatch operators to initiate calls for service and dispatch first responders, as well as maintain real-time incident status information and alerts. In the event of an earthquake, wildfire or other disaster that disrupts their on-premises CAD system, DRaaS allows Oakland to have a functional CAD system in the cloud shortly after the agency reports the outage, enabling the creation (standing up) of a virtual communications center.
