Kingston DC1000B M.2 NVMe Boot Drive Data Center Up to 480GB SSD With 3D TLC NAND

Gen 3.0 x 4 PCIe interface, 3,200/565MB/s sequential RW speeds and 205,000/20,000 IO/s for 480GB version

Kingston Digital, Inc., the flash memory affiliate of Kingston Technology company, Inc., announced the availability of the DC1000B M.2 NVMe boot drive, a data center SSD.

Kingston Dc1000b Ssd

This drive is for servers shipping with 1 or 2 M.2 NVMe slots dedicated for boot purposes and thus preserving valuable front-loading 2.5-inches drive bays for additional storage. DC1000B is designed in a 2280 form factor that includes onboard power-loss protection and is engineered with 0.5DWPD (4) endurance for extended service life.

It boasts performance with speeds of up to 3.2GB/s and 205,000 IO/s (2) and is designed for booting, as well as caching and logging applications.

While the M.2 form factor was originally designed for client machines, it’s small physical size and high performance make it attractive for server use,” said Keith Schimmenti, enterprise SSD business manager, Kingston. “DC1000B is purposefully built for the latest servers from both white box and Tier 1 server OEMs that utilize M.2 NVMe SSDs for boot purposes, as well as the ability to be configured as a local cache drive.

DC1000B is a M.2 (2280) NVMe SSD using the Gen 3.0 x 4 PCIe interface with 3D TLC NAND. It offers data centers a cost-effective boot drive solution with the reassurance they are purchasing an SSD designed for server use. For use in high-volume rack-mount servers as an internal boot drive(s) as well as purpose-built systems where a performance M.2 SSD is needed that includes on-board power-loss protection (PLP). It is designed to deliver enterprise performance consistency and low-latency features typically not found on client SSDs.

DC1000B is available in 240 and 480GB capacities (1) and is backed by a limited 5-year warranty, free technical support and the company’s reliability.

Kingston Dc1000b Spec

(1) Some of the listed capacity on a flash storage device is used for formatting and other functions and thus is not available for storage. As such, the actual available capacity for storage is less than what is listed on the products.(Flash Guide).
(2) Measurement taken once the workload has reached steady state but including all background activities required for normal operation and data reliability.
(
3) Total Bytes Written (TBW) is derived from the JEDEC Client Workload (JESD219A).
(4) Drive Writes Per Day (DWPD) derived from the JEDEC Enterprise Workload (JESD219A).
(
5) Limited warranty based on 5 years or SSD ‘Life Remaining’ which can be found using the SSD Manager. A new, unused product will show a wear indicator value of one hundred (100), whereas a product that has reached its endurance limit of program erase cycles will show a wear indicator value of one (1) Details.
