AWS Backup Delivers Fast Restore for Amazon EFS Item-Level Recovery

AWS Backup provides a streamlined experience for Amazon Elastic File System (EFS) item-level recovery.

You can use AWS Backup to perform granular recovery of individual files or folders from Amazon EFS backups using a centralized console, for a simplified and fast restore experience, to meet stringent RTO requirements. To get started, choose the Item-level Restore restore type and provide one or more paths you want to recover using the AWS Backup console, SDK or CLI.

AWS Backup offers a centralized, fully-managed, policy-based service to backup data across AWS services. With it, you can centrally configure backup scheduling, set retention policies and monitor backup activity for different AWS resources, including Amazon Elastic Cloud Compute (EC2) instances, Amazon Elastic Block Store (EBS) volumes, Amazon Relational Database Service (RDS) databases, Amazon DynamoDB, Amazon Elastic File System (EFS) file systems, and Amazon Storage Gateway (SGW) volumes.

EFS provides a scalable, fully managed elastic NFS file system for use with AWS Cloud services and on-premises resources. It is built to scale on demand to petabytes without disrupting applications, growing and shrinking automatically as you add and remove files, eliminating the need to provision and manage capacity to accommodate growth.
