Insurgo Media Services Ltd., Gwent, Great Britain, has been assigned a patent (10,475,472) developed by Spiller, Roy, West Glamorgan, Great Britain, for a “magnetic head.“

The abstract of the patent published by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office states: ”The present invention provides a magnetic head for erasing data on a magnetic tape, the magnetic head comprising a body having an elongate magnet mounted thereon, and a plurality of magnetisable portions in magnetisable communication with the magnet, the plurality of magnetisable portions being aligned with the elongate magnet and forming at least a portion of a substantially planar external surface of the magnetic head. The present invention further provides a method and system for erasing data on a magnetic tape using said magnetic head.”
