SC19: 200G HDR IB Accelerates 31% of New IB Systems According to November Top500 HPC

Mellanox Technologies, Ltd. announced that 200Gb/s HDR IB accelerates 31% of the 2019 IB systems on November’s Top500 supercomputing list, demonstrating market demand for faster data speeds and smart interconnect technologies.

Moreover, HDR IB connects the fastest Top500 HPC built in 2019. Overall, IB solutions interconnect 141 HPCs, demonstrating 12% growth since the June 2019 Top500 list. IB is used in 6 of the top 10 HPC and AI HPCs on the list, including the top 3, and 4 of the top 5.

The company’s IB and Ethernet connect 297 systems, or 59% of overall Top500 platforms, demonstrating 12% growth Y/Y, from November 2018 to November 2019. This includes all of the 141 IB systems, and most of the 25Gb and faster Ethernet platforms. The firm’s Ethernet solutions are used in 156 Ethernet systems on the list, or 60% of the total Ethernet platforms, demonstrating 20% growth Y/Y.
