Synology: Stay Vigilant of Online Scams

Synology Inc. found that cybercriminals crafted fraudulent domains that look like Synology domain names in an attempt to redirect users to a phishing site where they were tricked into transferring money to a designated account which has nothing to do with the firm.

It has reported such matter to the domain name registrar, Google, and LiveChat provider, Zendesk, and the malicious domains (synologlogin.com – no more accessible – and routerrsynology.com have been taken down accordingly.

Synology recommends the following actions to ensure online security.

• Make sure you’re visiting Synology’s legitimate registered domains: synology.com and synology.cn
• Don’t click on unknown links or offer your personal account and payment information
• When encountering unclear situations, please verify the details via company’s official channels
