Oracle Open World: Liqid Powered Memory Platform With Up to 12TB of Intel Optane in 2U Server
Composable storage-class memory scales to meet demands of Oracle TimesTen, SAP HANA, and more in dual-socket CPU platform.
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on September 23, 2019 at 2:26 pmAt Oracle Open World, Liqid, Inc. announced high-memory solutions with up to 12TB of Intel Corp.‘s Optane memory and 184TB of NVMe storage, enabling in-memory calculations for large datasets.
The application-agnostic platform delivers scale for in-memory databases, including Oracle TimesTen, SAP HANA, Apache Spark, Aerospike DBS, and other memory intensive applications.
Available in 6, 9, and 12TB configurations, IT users can utilize Intel Optane resources on Linux as native memory without any changes to the application. These high-memory solutions can be used as standalone or combined with up to 184TB of in-system NVMe storage. The company’s composable infrastructure platform also enables IT users to compose Optane in tandem with GPUs, FPGAs, or network resources on demand to support workload requirements.
“Intel Optane’s leadership in storage-class memory, coupled with Liqid’s composable infrastructure solutions provide data scientists with new tools to tackle larger workloads with compelling performance and economics,” said Chris Tobias, director, datacenter Optane PCIe solutions, strategy, and marketing, Intel. “Leveraging Intel Memory Drive Technology software, Intel Optane memory and Liqid enable data centers focused on real-time operational data analysis, recommendation engines, fraud detection, and other memory-intensive applications greater analytical capability.“
Powered Optane memory platform
As in-memory databases have become more common across enterprise, academic, government, and other data-intensive use cases, DRAM costs and the physical limitations of the media have hampered deployment of these applications.
Company enables persistent Optane memory to be deployed accordingly:
“We are excited to work with Intel to deliver turn-key solutions for the industry’s most demanding in-memory applications, AI, mobile and IoT applications, dynamic cloud, and other applications that get bottlenecked by the physical and price limitations of traditional DRAM,” said Marius Tudor, VP, sales and marketing, Liqid. “Researchers can more effectively model and study data in real time, accelerate scientific discovery, improve user experiences across a variety of use cases, and expedite the time to market for all kinds of businesses for which data performance translates directly to operational success.“
