Sans Digital announced AccuRAID AR1 series rackmountable dual RAID controller.

The AR1 Series offers a way for administrators to add capacity and/or performance to almost any existing server that has a either a SAS, FC-SAN, or IP-SAN connection.

Allowing users to expand their servers to over 3.5PB with RAID or non-RAID (JBOD mode) options using standard JBODs or JBOFs. This series is managed via an integrated web-GUI for setup and monitoring of all drives regardless of size. It is a solution for administrators looking to further enhance their existing head unit safely.

Three host interface options

• 12Gb SAS to hosts

• 16Gb FC to hosts, or

• 10Gb iSCSI to hosts

Redundancy
Dual Controllers provide an extra layer of redundancy protection against path failure and controller failure.

Cluster building block
Multiple host ports per controller provide the physical mechanism as building blocks for creating host clustering solutions.

Centralized storage
De-couple and re-couple host computers with storage for centralized management and capacity allocation.

Meets future capacity needs
Capacity can be expanded by adding more JBODs and/or putting a FC switch or 10GbE switch between the hosts and the AccuRAID AR1.

Dual-modes options (RAID mode/JBOD mode)
Hardware RAID with parity protection provides a price-performance combination of usable capacity, performance, and budget. With JBOD mode, the IT admin can bypass the RAID stack and continue to use their preferred OS and file system for disk/volume management or clustering.
