IBM FlashSystem 9100 AF7 to AF8 model conversion

IBM FlashSystem 9100 model conversion enables existing 9846-AF7 and 9848-AF7 machines to be upgraded to FlashSystem 9150 Model AF8.

Key requirements

• FlashSystem 9100 9846-AF7 or 9848-AF7 hardware.
• FlashSystem 9100 requires IBM Spectrum Virtualize Software for FlashSystem 9100 V8.2.1.6, V8.3.0.1, or later, for operation. Use of the software is entitled through the acquisition of Spectrum Virtualize software licenses.
• FlashSystem 9100 control enclosures support external storage virtualization. Use of the external virtualization capability is entitled through the acquisition of Spectrum Virtualize Software for SAN Volume Controller (SW PID 5641-VC8 in AAS and SW PID 5725-M19 in Passport Advantage).
