Availability of EditShare Qscan v.3.5 Quality Control Software

EditShare LLC announced the availability of Qscan 3.5 quality control software.

Whether you’re ingesting media for editing, or delivering material for playout, QScan helps to ensure that issues are detected and produce is standards compliant. And the process is fast and painfree, thanks to an UI, single-pass scanning and ready-made parameter templates for industry standards, including IMF, AS-11 and Dolby Vision.

Added to this release:

Quick analysis – a feature to make it easier to get going. No need to create projects, set up file repositories. Find the file you want to test, apply a template and go. You can now get started with an intuitive AQC solution.
Media space configuration – if you’re using the company’s storage with QScan you can now find your media spaces more easily, in order to set them up as QScan file repositories.
Reports where you want them – you can define where QScan stores the final reports from your tests. You can set up a special repository just for your AQC reports.
Dolby Vision DHR sidecar xml – some folks have their DoVi metadata in separate xml files with the same name as the parent clip. QScan can detect these files and provide the analysis results as if hard baked in to the video essence.
DCP, EXR and TIFF – Not only we have added DCP package support to go along with our existing IMF support but QScan can test EXR and TIFF image sequences as well. For animation and VFX facilities.
Loudness Offset – for content that starts with bars and tone, or a clock it is necessary to ignore this part of the clip for loudness test. Now you can create an offset to ignore these parts of the material and focus tests on the program content.
Mean Audio Phase – you have the option to display the average audio phase for a whole clip not just the specific value for any given frame. This makes it easier to spot the age old problem of some content being dual mono not true stereo more easily.
