History (1994): Prices of Some Intel’s Flash Chips Dropped 31%

In 1Q94 compared to 4Q93

The volume production now reached by Intel Corp. (Santa Clara, CA) allows the company to resume its 1994’s price reduction course.

This is how the prices of some of its flash chips dropped 31% in 1Q94 compared to 4Q93.

In the first quarter, the 2Mb 70 nanosecond chip costs $12.10 a unit in 100,000 quantity. In 4Q94, the 8Mb 120 nanosecond FlashFile circuit version will cost $20 in 100,000 quantity.

Prices for the new 16Mb flash chips are not changed.
