Micron Expands NAND Flash Memory Fab Facility in Singapore

Production in 2H19 focusing on 96-layer and higher 3D processes

Micron Technology, Inc. expanded its 3D NAND flash memory fabrication operations in Singapore where it hosted a grand opening ceremony to mark completion of this achievement.

Micron Unveils Expanded Nand Flash Memory Fabrication Facility In Singapore

Micron Semiconductor Asia Pte Ltd‘s Singapore location is the company’s NAND center of excellence and primary manufacturing facility for 3D NAND production, technology taccelerating future advancements in AI, ML and autonomous transportation.

In 2018, Micron held a ground-breaking ceremony announcing a significant investment in its Singapore site. This cleanroom expansion was to support advanced 3D NAND technology node transitions while maintaining existing wafer capacity.

Micron announced the completion of this expansion. Over 500 customers, suppliers, distributors, university leaders, community partners, Micron team members and local government officials attended the ceremony to celebrate the opening of the expanded facility. The guest of honor was Singapore’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance Heng Swee Keat.

The company expects the facility to ramp up production in the second half of 2019 focusing on 96-layer and higher 3D processes.
