Panasonic Intellectual Property Management Co., Ltd., Osaka, Japan, has been assigned a patent (10,268,421) developed by Takasu, Toshiaki, Osaka, Japan, Yamada, Takahiro, Tanaka, Kenichi, Endou, Hirotaka, Fukuoka, Japan, and Boku, Kouretsu, Osaka, Japan, for “information recording device and information recording method.“
The abstract of the patent published by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office states: ”An information recording device including a controller records information in a write-once optical disk group including one or a plurality of write-once optical disks. When recording new data, the controller calculates a residual quantity of an alternate area. The calculation of the residual quantity of the alternate area corresponds to a subtraction of a first consumption size and a second consumption size from a size of the alternate area of the write-once optical disk group. The first consumption size is a size of the alternate area already consumed when the data recorded in the write-once optical disk group was erased. The second consumption size is an estimated size of the alternate area to be consumed when the data recorded in the write-once optical disk group is erased. The controller records the new data when the residual quantity is greater than or equal to a third consumption size.”
The patent application was filed on September 27, 2016 (15/277,804).
Optical disc apparatus for recording and reproducing data
Panasonic Intellectual Property Management Co., Ltd., Osaka, Japan, has been assigned a patent (10,223,202) developed by Nakata, Kohei, Nara, Japan, and Takagi, Yuji, Osaka, Japan, for an “optical disc apparatus for recording and reproducing data onto and from an optical disc based on an evaluation value.“
The abstract of the patent published by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office states: ”In an optical disc apparatus that records and reproduces data onto and from an optical disc in units of predetermined block, an information divider divides the data so as to reduce an amount of the data included in each of blocks when a recording state of the optical disc does not satisfy a predetermined criterion, and reproduces recording data in units of the block by adding sub-information including a value indicating the amount of the data included in each of the blocks. An error-correction encoder circuit encodes the recording data in a first error-correction code format, and a recorder converts encoded recording data into a recording signal, and records the recording signal onto the optical disc. A quality evaluator circuit produces an evaluation value indicating a recording quality based on a result of reproducing the recording signal recorded on the optical disc.”
The patent application was filed on January 8, 2018 (15/864,161).
Nonvolatile semiconductor storage
Panasonic Intellectual Property Management Co., Ltd., Osaka, Japan, has been assigned a patent (10,210,930) developed by Nakayama, Masayoshi, Murakuki, Yasuo, Kyoto, Japan, and Maruyama, Takafumi, Hiroshima, Japan, for a “nonvolatile semiconductor storage apparatus.“
The abstract of the patent published by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office states: ”A nonvolatile semiconductor storage apparatus is provided. To a data node and a reference node, a first transistor and a second transistor are respectively connected. In a data state determining operation, in the case where voltage is applied to the data node and reference node, the first and second transistors operate as precharge transistors in a first operation mode, and operate as mirror transistors in a second operation mode. The first and second operation modes are switched.”
The patent application was filed on July 25, 2016 (15/219,232).
Recording medium case, recording medium unit and electronic device
Panasonic Intellectual Property Management Co., Ltd., Osaka, Japan, has been assigned a patent (10,210,910) developed by Ueki, Yusuke, Kyoto, Japan, for “recording medium case, recording medium unit and electronic device.“
The abstract of the patent published by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office states: ”HDD case, (100) accommodates HDD device, (60) having a disk medium and forms HDD unit, 50). HDD unit, (50) is removably disposed in an accommodating section of an electronic device. HDD device, (60) has a substantially rectangular shape. Besides, HDD case, (100) has a pair of side sections, (120) located parallel to slot-in/pull-out directions in which HDD unit, (50) is slotted into the accommodating section and is pulled out from the accommodating section. Further, protruding section, (121) is formed on side sections, (120) such that a part of side sections, (120) is protruded on the outer side of HDD case, (100). In a state where HDD case, (100) is accommodated in the accommodating section of the electronic device, protruding section, (121) makes contact with the side surface of the accommodating section.”
The patent application was filed on June 28, 2017 (15/636,248).
