History (1989): StorageTek Definitively Acquires Aspen Peripherals

Storage Technology Corp. (Louisville, CO) has completed the acquisition of Aspen Peripherals Corp. (Longmont, CO), involved in IBM 3480 compatible tape drives, for approximately $46.9 million of common stock.

At the same time, Jesse I. Aweida, president of Aspen, is leaving the company and will not return to StorageTek from where he left in 1985 to form Aweida Systems that after that merged with Aspen.
