HVR: General Availability V.5.6 Simplifies High Volume Data Integration and Management in Complex Hybrid Cloud Environments
Including visualization capabilities for managing data flows, additional on-premise and cloud support, and in-flight compare
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on July 19, 2019 at 1:58 pmHVR Software BV announced the General Availability (GA) version 5.6 of the software, delivering real-time data replication to the cloud to enable a variety of analytical use cases, data streaming, and database technology migrations.
GA 5.6 introduces features and improvements to help users manage the complexity of hybrid cloud data management.
According to a survey conducted by Stewart Bond, research director, data integration and integrity, IDC, organizations have an average of 9 unique data sources, 4 different data types, and over 8 targets per data pipeline. Further, 25 new sources, targets, and data types are requested each month (2019).
“The cloud computing industry has sustained continued growth. At the same time, data management is becoming increasingly more complex, with larger data volumes, new technologies, and more reliance on data as an integral part of business,” said Mark Van de Wiel, CTO, HVR. “The enhancements we’ve made with our most recent release helps manage these complexities, reflecting our commitment to providing organizations the ability to make informed business decisions on the freshest, most up-to-date data possible.“
The company allows customers to perform continuous high volume, real-time data replication for efficient, secure data integration from a variety of cloud-based and on-premise sources. The firm’s distributed architecture and low impact log-based change data capture functionality is scalable and proven in complex environments, helping customers optimize their business intelligence solutions with accurate real-time analysis.
Key features of 5.6 release include:

Enhancements to Insights feature, a visual statistics tool, including Topology charts and reports, provide dynamic visibility of data movement:
-
-
Latency in data delivery can have undesired consequences in business. 5.6 addresses this challenge with the introduction of Topology graphs as a part of Insights, the firm’s visual statistics tool. These dynamic graphs provide intuitive visual elements showing multiple key attributes of data flows in a single overview, allowing users to better manage complex data flows, as well as ensure latency requirements are met and data delivery is optimized.

Audit capabilities for all user interactions with HVR to ensure compliance needs are met:
-
-
Complex environments must match change requests with configuration changes as a requirement for certain use cases (e.g. compliance for financial reporting). 5.6 accomplishes this by keeping track of all user interactions in Insights via a browser-based graphical report, which facilitates configuration management to keep track of changes made to the setup.

Improvements to data validation capabilities help organizations trust their data:
-
-
Business users must be able to trust that their data is accurate and in sync. 5.6 introduces enhancements to Compare, the company’s data validation tool. Enhancements include Live Compare, a capability that merges the changes in the HVR transaction files with any detected differences, allowing users to be confident that two systems are in sync, irrespective of in-flight changes.

GA 5.6 also introduces support for additional cloud-only technologies as well as legacy on-premise technologies, such as DB2 for z/OS, enabling organizations to integrate their data to the cloud. Also included is support for log-based CDC from Aurora PostgreSQL, as well as new target-only technologies, such as Snowflake on Azure.
With each update, the company releases countless improvements to help businesses replicate high volumes of data efficiently, securely, and in real-time between multiple on-premise and cloud-based sources. Its log-based CDC capabilities enable optimized data streaming, allowing organizations to use more of their data, faster.
