In data protection and BC solutions
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on July 4, 2019 at 2:25 pmiVedha, Inc., a Canadian technology company, acquired Open Storage Solutions, Inc. (OSS), in data protection and BC solutions.
This combination of two Canadian technology companies will enable OSS to provide iVedha’s next-gen, cloud platform from Aytra, Inc., an infrastructure technology for simplifying, securing and managing corporate data and platforms, to OSS’s broad base of North American enterprise customers.
“OSS has been a leading provider in storage and data protection for forty-years. This acquisition is a result of our mutual respect and shared beliefs – our corporate cultures and technology visions are aligned,” said Kumar Ratnam, founder and CEO, iVedha. “OSS provides iVedha customers with an edge in specialized services around threat management, ransomware and GDPR by delivering lower cost, improved security, and greater scalability of cloud-native services.“
iVedha brings next-gen managed cloud services and hybrid cloud offerings, with over 10 years of cloud expertise focused around the three M’s – modernize, migrate, manage.
Aytra, an API cloud orchestration platform is a result of iVedha’s journey as a service provider navigating the challenges of building a services-centric revenue model for cloud services. It is designed for service providers to more easily adopt, service and support cloud technologies across several providers.
“We’ve always put our customers first,” says Andy Betterton, who will continue in his role as CEO, OSS. “Our customer’s needs are at the forefront of this acquisition. This is two great Canadian companies, coming together to give our clients next generation cloud backup and DR offerings delivered as a service with infinite scalability of the cloud accessible anywhere and totally autonomous.”
“OSS will continue to operate independently,” says Kumar. “It will be the same, but better. Same great service, same great company and people, but the technology is more advanced and offers better options for customers to take advantage of cloud consumption models. The potential for data solutions on-demand and streamlined operations will skyrocket.”
