Druva to Swallow CloudLanes
To augment cloud data platform solution
By Philippe Nicolas | June 26, 2019 at 2:16 pmDruva, Inc., who just announced a new VC round (wow Series G) for a total of $328 million, is in the process to acquire CloudLanes, a very small cloud data management player we were the first to cover almost 3 years ago (see below).
At the same time, Druva entered the very closed club of storage unicorn with a valuation/total VC money ratio of 3, not so impressive and after 11 years of existence.
With a $100 million annual run rate, the company could investigate IPO in the next 12-18 months and also consider clearly acquisition offering. The firm alone is interesting but still a small player. Druva could acquired by a big one and change its market positions against very active new generation of vendors such Rubrik, Cohesity or HYCU.
Note that Druva acquired last year CloudRanger, in backup and DR solutions for AWS.
