UNH IOL Plugfest: SANBlaze Tests NVMe over FC, RoCE, and TCP

End-to-end test solution for all variations of NVMe SSDs

SANBlaze Technologies, Inc. was live at the UNH NVMe-oF Plugfest testing NVMe targets over the entire set of NVMe transports – NVMe over FC and Fabrics including RoCE, and TCP connections.

The University of New Hampshire Plugfests are a vendor-centric gathering where manufacturers test their equipment’s interoperability with other vendors, ensuring any glitches or software bugs get identified and fixed before they go in live customer environments.

This week, SANBlaze has been running NVMe conformance testing with HPE, Mellanox, Western Digital, Lightbits and SolarFlare over TCP and RoCE with excellent results,” said Vince Asbridge, president, SANBlaze. “The UNH Plugfests are key in finding and fixing problems by allowing vendors to verify specification compliance and cross vendor operation, and it’s great to see SANBlaze being used as a key validation and emulation tool.

NVMe is fast becoming a dominant protocol for the SAN,” he continued. “The implementation of NVMe over TCP allows NVMe to run on existing network infrastructure and cloud-based storage, which will trigger exponential growth for NVMe as a Fabric based protocol.

The NVMe-oF Plugfest operated at the IOL testing labs at UNH, June 17-20.

The company will participate in the NVMe (PCIe) Plugfest at UNH, June 24- 27 utilizing its native NVMe PCIe Gen4 test system called the SBExpress-RM4. Whether testing native NVMe (PCI) or testing NVMe over FC or Fabrics (RoCE and TCP), the company’s solution is a complete end-to-end test solution for all variations of NVMe SSD drives.
