Cameyo Session Sync Technology Provides Persistent Storage of Each User’s Settings and Files From Session to Session

For accessing to legacy Windows applications on any device

One of the least discussed but most pervasive roadblocks to organizations’ digital transformation plans is the inability to provide people with access to the Windows-based applications they need to be productive on any device, from the cloud.

VDI and traditional application virtualization technologies were not built for the cloud and result in slow application performance and bad user experiences.

That changes with Cameyo, Inc., the cloud-native Windows Application Transformation Platform (ATP) that modernizes the secure delivery of Windows desktop applications from any browser.

And the company is improving the customer experience by announcing its Session Sync technology, which provides persistent storage of a user’s settings and files that follow the user from session to session.

Digital Transformation progress is constantly held back by the lack of full-functionality applications when making the cloud shift. CXOs often issue ‘cloud first’ mandates that result in unintended consequences for their users’ application experience, either leaving their teams with a substantial functionality deficit or committing the organization to a massive OPEX/CAPEX path with VDI,” said Mark Bowker, senior analyst, Enterprise Strategy Group. “Cameyo uniquely enables the CXO to complete their Digital Transformation journey and gives both IT and line of business a fully functional customer experience.

Persistent storage delivers experience
With Session Sync technology, everything a user does during a Cameyo session is synced to and from Google Cloud Storage. Users (and their applications) are presented a virtualized view of their very own data and settings, regardless of the cloud instance they are being served from, and regardless of how many users are being served from the instance during that time. The company’s cloud instances are multi-tenant and stateless, therefore users are always connected to the quickly-available, resource-optimal, and cost-effective instance. The firm offers is a solution that works on a one-to-many basis. A single cloud instance can serve many users at once, and a single user can be working on multiple instances at once.

Cameyo already enables organizations to provide their people with access to all of the critical Windows applications that they need from any device – with the complete functionality of the desktop versions – from any browser,” said Andrew Miller, CEO, Cameyo. “And now with Cameyo Session Sync, we have completed our vision of providing users with an experience where they see the same files and data as if they were running their applications from a single, dedicated Windows machine. Organizations can now ensure that the user experience from session to session is seamless – without having to maintain an entire VDI infrastructure – which increases productivity and efficiency while removing one of the final hurdles to achieving their digital transformation goals.

Optimized for any environment – cloud, hybrid, or on premises
The company’s
Application Transformation Platform (ATP) with Session Sync is designed to be used in any environment and is available as a fully hosted service or can be installed in any environment, including on premises.

  • The firm’s ‘Fully Hosted’ is hosted on Google Cloud Platform, a public cloud with data centers located throughout the world.

  • The company’s ‘Self Hosted’ is hosted on-premises in the customer environment, which provides increased security and integration with backend services, such as Active Directory.

Experience, without sacrificing compliance
The firm provides users the ability to see all their files and download those files from the browser. This can be an important productivity enabler, but depending on the industry, this could also be a potential compliance issue. The Session Sync technology includes the ability for organizations to turn off the download capability, which can help ensure ongoing PCI compliance by eliminating the ability for users to download sensitive files locally to their device.

Cameyo Session Sync is available to all company’s users and is included in the platform’s monthly subscription fees. (pricing).
