Lima Has New Home: Atempo
With desire to leverage sync engine
By Philippe Nicolas | June 11, 2019 at 2:37 pmThe personal cloud storage enabler Lima disappeared a few months ago following financial difficulties due to a very limited market adoption and its inability to raise money again.
The company was confidential even with an interesting technology and VC didn’t really help them, not having significant storage market knowledge and expertise. It sounds familiar.
Luc D’Urso, CEO of Atempo, told us during the recent IT Press Tour that he has acquired the IP asset and Severin Marcombes, founder of Lima, will join Atempo.
The backup company seems to be interested by Lima’s synchronization engine that was finally the key asset. This engine could be implemented in various Atempo products to serve some specific use cases. Good move.
And at the same time, a French technology stays in France, following French President Emmanuel Macron desire and hopes. It’s also a real bargain for Atempo and the end of a nightmare for Lima.
