Cohesity MarichalCohesity, Inc. appointed Dirk Marichal as VP sales for the EMEA region.




He will have complete oversight for the company’s business development and sales operations throughout the region, ensuring there is close alignment between growing partner base and the company’s go-to-market strategy. He will oversee firms’s expansion throughout EMEA.

In this capacity, he will empower customers and partners to embrace Cohesity’s data management capabilities that make backup data productive and offer simplicity for archiving, DR, ransomware prevention, testing and development, and more – all within a single solution. In addition, he will play a role in helping customers solve mass data fragmentation challenges.

He is a business and sales leader, with more than 20 years of experience across a variety of software and hardware technology sectors including networking, security, data center, and hyperconverged infrastructure. He also has expertise in helping customers advance their businesses within on-premises, hybrid, and cloud environments.

He previously served as VP sales at Avi Networks, with responsibility for EMEA and India. Prior to that, the Belgian held a similar role at Nutanix, increasing global bookings by 25% within three years. Prior to Nutanix, he led EMEA sales at Infoblox and was instrumental in taking the company from its position as a relatively unknown start-up to revenues in excess of $200 million, which was followed by a successful IPO in 2012.

Cohesity recently announced that revenues in EMEA increased by 365% with strong growth across a variety of verticals including financial services, public sector, and healthcare. In recent months the EMEA team has grown to well over 100 employees, around 10% of the overall workforce.
