The Absolut Company Cutomer of Preservica

To future-proof 140-year of brand heritage and company history

Preservica Ltd, in active digital preservation, announced that the Absolut Company has selected its cloud hosted active digital preservation platform to protect and future-proof more than 140 years of unique brand heritage and company history.

The online archive will be used to inspire and empower marketing, comms and product teams across the business, as well as engage employees in the values and history of the company and iconic brands including Absolut Vodka, Malibu, Kahlúa, Our/vodka and Åhus akvavit.

The Absolut company has more than 100,000 items in its archive including company history and records as well as brand heritage, posters, advertising, and product images.

Lovisa Kragerud, corporate archivist and chief storyteller, Absolut company commented: “When I joined the company it became clear that our unique history and brand heritage was spread across different locations, systems and types of media. This put our digital assets at risk of being lost or becoming obsolete and made them difficult to find quickly to be used by the archive and other teams across the business. Our marketing team uses a traditional DAM system for our current campaigns and assets, however, we realized that we needed a digital preservation platform to create a company-wide resource that would also ensure our unique heritage assets could be found and reused over decades.

Preservica was seen as user-friendly and ready to work ‘out of the box’. Particularly appealing was its discovery and search capabilities – this is a requirement for enabling teams across the business to find, view and retrieve authentic heritage assets.
