Liqid, Inc. announces unified multi-fabric support for composability across all major fabric types, including PCIe Gen 3, PCIe Gen 4, Ethernet, IB, while laying the foundation for the upcoming Gen-Z specifications.

The company’s upcoming release of its Command Center 2.2 software will enable IT users to dynamically compose servers from pools of CPU, GPU, FPGA, NVMe, and NICs, regardless of underlying fabric type. This milestone makes Command Center Software a complete and adaptive solution. Version 2.2 extends the company’s capabilities to compose infrastructure across multiple fabric types while laying the foundation for future architectures.

Command Center Software enables dynamic, bare-metal composability utilizing pools off-the-shelf hardware connected across intelligently-managed fabrics. With the ability to compose across PCIe, Ethernet, and IB, the firm is increasing the utilization, flexibility, and ease of use of valuable data center resources. IT administrators can realize the benefits of on-demand, adaptive infrastructure composed simultaneously across multiple fabric types. Resources such as NVMe storage, GPUs, and FPGAs can be deployed across the data center as needed, via multiple fabrics, and monitored through a single pane-of-glass GUI or through  REST API.

Additionally, the company is a member of the Gen-Z consortium and is actively enabling support for the new protocol in future releases of Command Center Software. In this way, the firm is ‘future-proofing’ fabric management for users who seek the performance and utilization efficiencies promised by composable infrastructure deployed with Gen-Z.

Command Center Software revision 2.2 enables:

  • Support for composability over PCIe Gen4

  • Support for composability over 100GbE

  • Support for composability over 100Gb/s EDR IB

  • Composable storage with NVMe-oF (RoCEv2)

  • Composable GPU with GPU-oF (TCP/IP)

Availability of Command Center 2.2 is expected in 2H19.
