Revenue for HDD motors down 12% Q/Q and 7% Y/Y

The figures here are only for spindle motors for HDDs, one of company’s business being largely the WW leader in this category with around 85% of this market.
Net sales of this activity for this fiscal year decreased 6.5% to ¥179,011 million compared to the previous fiscal year.
The number of units sold decreased approximately 11.1% compared to the previous fiscal year, due to shrinking HDD market.
Net sales decreased 12.3% to ¥36,858 million for 4FQ18 compared to 3FQ18.
The number of units sold of spindle motors for HDDs for 4FQ18 decreased approximately 11.0% compared to 3FQ18 as well as the fluctuations of the foreign currency exchange rate had a negative effect on net sales.
