NAB: One Stop Systems Introduced PCIe Gen 4 GPU Render Accelerator and Video Recorder Platforms

Configurations of multiple high-end rendering GPUs, video capture cards and high capacity NVMe storage, solutions connect to PCIe Gen 4 enabled servers via two 256Gb/s interfaces

One Stop Systems, Inc. (OSS) has introduced a PCIe Gen 4 GPU Render Accelerator platform and Video Recorder platform at the 2019 NAB Show.

Oss 4u Value Accelerator

OSS is known for being first-to-market with the latest and greatest in high-performance video systems used by the media and entertainment industry, and for this year’s NAB Show we will not disappoint,” said Steve Cooper, CEO, OSS. “Given the ever increasing need to support very high-resolution video workflows, it’s essential to have access to the most powerful performance tools available. With the introduction of our PCIe Gen 4 GPU Render Accelerator and Video Recorder platforms, major players in media and entertainment can now take advantage of the additional bandwidth available in Gen 4-equipped servers. This means faster, smoother, and more timely media workflows and production, as well more capable super high-resolution video wall displays and other high-end applications.

The platforms are based on the firm’s PCIe Gen 4 Value chassis it announced in February. Support, flexible configurations of multiple high-end rendering GPUs, video capture cards and high capacity NVMe storage, these solutions connect to any PCIe Gen 4 enabled servers via two 256Gb/s PCIe Gen 4 interfaces.

They support a range of PCIe slot configurations from 8×16 slots to 16×8 slots in a 4U, 19 inch enclosure. The GPU Render Accelerator platform can incorporate up to 8 high-performance rendering GPUs, and the Video Recorder platform supports up to 20GB/s video capture bandwidth. As the market transitions from PCIe Ge 3 to Gen 4, the company’s 4U Value chassis provides benefit by aggregating the traffic of multiple Gen 3 cards and connecting to the server at Gen 4 speeds. It is designed to support all Gen 4 IO and accelerator cards as they become available.

PCIe Gen 4 offers system performance that doubles the interconnect bandwidth over Gen 3. The industry standard provides 16GT/s per lane or 256GT/s in a x16 PCIe Gen 4 slot, alleviating system bottlenecks between CPU complexes and GPUs, storage and video capture devices.
