316% Y/Y Customer Growth in Canada for Cohesity

Planning to add 100 employees within one year

Cohesity, Inc.plans to add more than 100 new hires for its Canada offices, tapping into the country’s tech talent, as the company continues to bring on major new customers in the region.

The firm aims to hire 50 people to work in its Toronto office over the next six months and plans to double that number within a year. The majority of the new employees will fill engineering roles, allowing to take advantage of Canada’s pool of tech talent. The company plans to add to its R&D teams at all levels, including engineering managers, software engineers, and software development engineers in test positions. Cohesity it also expand its sales organization in Toronto to serve its growing list of clients in Canada.

People are at the core of our mission to revolutionize data infrastructure, and driving continuous innovation means growing our team of inspired and visionary employees that can unlock new opportunities for enterprises to do more with their backup data,” said Vineet Abraham, SVP of engineering, Cohesity. “Canada’s universities produce some of the best engineers in the world, and we’re excited to bring on new graduates as well as experienced workers who can ultimately help our customers extract maximum value from their data.

The hiring push comes as Cohesity continues its growth in Canada by helping enterprises address the challenge of mass data fragmentation created by the legacy approach to secondary data and applications. Companies have been overwhelmed by a complex patchwork of point products for secondary workflows – including backups, DR, file services, object storage, test/dev, archives, and analytics – which generally do not integrate. By consolidating these workloads on a single platform, starting with backup data and moving to other secondary workloads such as analytics and file sharing, customers are able to simplify management and maximize resources.

The total number of customers in Canada grew 316% in FY18 compared to the previous year. The firm has nearly 75 Canadian customers representing industries including consulting, finance, media, energy, and the public sector. Major customer wins in Canada in the last six months include three of Canada’s largest banks, Atomic Cartoons, Inc., Colliers International, and La Capitale. This is in addition to existing Canadian customers including Air Bud Entertainment, the City of Hamilton, Mark Anthony Group, Inc., and ThinkOn, Inc.

With its architecture that combines software, servers, and storage in one scalable and integrated solution, Cohesity has allowed us to simplify and reduce management time of our backup and file server infrastructure as well as decrease costs,” said David Paquin, infrastructure architect, La Capitale.

Cohesity continues to add new partners in Canada and build on existing partnerships to serve more enterprises in Canada. Its platform is available in Canada through technology partners HPE and Cisco, and Cohesity has generated sales momentum with many of the country’s large VARs.

In the past two years, our relationship with Cohesity has quickly grown into a strategic and successful business partnership,” said Joe Simmsales director, public sector, Compugen, Inc.We are excited about the solution that Cohesity provides, and have seen the difference it can make for our customers that are looking to make their data centers more modern and efficient. We are confident that we will continue to see tremendous growth as we collaborate with their sales and technical teams.
