Tencent Technology Assigned Five Patents

Data transmission in distributed storage, managing storage, storage medium for determining health state of information, storing redeem code, and method and apparatus for verifying redeem code, controlling access to a hash-based disk

Data transmission in distributed storage
Tencent Technology, (Shenzhen) Company Ltd., Shenzhen, China, has been assigned a patent (10,212,217) developed by Liu, Yang, and Zou, Fangming, Guangdong, China, for “
method and apparatus for data transmission in a distributed storage system.

The abstract of the patent published by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office states: ”A data transmission method and apparatus avoids uneven loading of stored data, supports allocation of storage spaces with load balancing, and supports fast access to data. The method may include receiving, by a distributed storage system, data and a corresponding data key sent by a client. Nodes are allocated to the data according to load conditions of nodes in the distributed storage system. The data is stored in the corresponding nodes. A constructed key is generated for the data, which includes the data key and node routing information corresponding to a location where the data is stored. The constructed key is returned to the client. The client uses the constructed key to acquire the stored data. The distributed storage system receives the constructed key, retrieves the stored data based on the routing information in the constructed key and sends the data to the client.

Managing storage
Tencent Technology, (Shenzhen) Company Ltd., Shenzhen, China, has been assigned a patent (10,198,180) developed by Xu, Hao, Shenzhen, China, for “
method and apparatus for managing storage device.

The abstract of the patent published by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office states: ”A storage management method and a storage management apparatus are provided. In some embodiments, the method includes: detecting, during a preset length of time, a writing amount per time unit of service data of a target network service in a target storage, retrieving a correspondence relationship between the writing amount per time unit and an amount of a redundant storage, wherein the relationship indicates the amount of the redundant storage increases with the increasing of the writing amount per time unit, determining a first amount of the redundant storage corresponding to the first writing amount per time unit according to the correspondence relationship, and configuring the redundant storage for the target network service in accordance with the first amount of the redundant storage.

Storage medium for determining health state of information system
Tencent Technology, (Shenzhen) Company Ltd., Shenzhen, China, has been assigned a patent (10,182,067) developed by Zhou, Bin, Xu, Dong Shan, and Fu, Shan Yang, Shenzhen, China, for “
method, device and storage medium for determining health state of information system.

The abstract of the patent published by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office states: ”The present disclosure relates to a method, a device and a storage medium for determining a health state of an information system. At first, a baseline configuration document corresponding to the information system is received, and data records under inspection of the information system are acquired. The baseline configuration document defines baselines. Then, each of the data records under inspection is compared with at least one baseline defined in the baseline configuration document to obtain a comparing result between each of the data records under inspection and the at least one baseline. At last, the health state of the information system is determined according to the comparing result between each of the data records under inspection and the at least one baseline. A health-determining apparatus relative to the above-mentioned method is also provided. Therefore, by these method and apparatus, the health state of the information system is quantifiable.

The patent application was filed on January 7, 2015 (14/591,318).

Storing redeem code, and method and apparatus for verifying redeem code
Tencent Technology, (Shenzhen) Company Ltd., Shenzhen, China, has been assigned a patent (10,176,304) developed by Zhou, Jian, Shenzhen, China, for “
method and apparatus for storing redeem code, and method and apparatus for verifying redeem code.

The abstract of the patent published by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office states: ”A method and an apparatus for storing a redeem code and a method and an apparatus for verifying a redeem code. The method for storing a redeem code includes generating a random value and determining an index of the random value according to an order in which the random value is generated, generating a number pair according to the random value and the index of the random value, mapping the number pair to a string and generating a redeem code according to the string, and determining a storage location of the random value according to the index of the random value, and saving the random value at the determined storage location.

The patent application was filed on March 8, 2017 (15/453,280).

Controlling access to a hash-based disk
Tencent Technology, (Shenzhen) Company Ltd., Shenzhen, China, has been assigned a patent (10,169,250) developed by Li, Yaqing, and Zhu, Jianping, Shenzhen, China, for “
method and apparatus method and apparatus for controlling access to a hash-based disk.

The abstract of the patent published by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office states: ”A method and apparatus for controlling access to a hash-based disk is provided, the disk comprising a storage object, the storage object comprising a set of records and a hash value, the method comprising constructing a Bloom filter for the storage object, reading the set of records in the storage object, and filtering an access request to the storage object using the Bloom filter. In accordance with embodiments of the present invention, access requests to storage objects on the disk are filtered by a Bloom filter to reduce unnecessary accesses to the disk, and input and output accesses to the disk are reduced.

The patent application was filed on June 9, 2015 (14/734,798).
