Spectrum Protect V8.1.7 delivers features for optimization for long term data retention.
Spectrum Protect V8.1.7 delivers new capabilities:
- New data retention sets enable to create point-in-time collections, leveraging existing backup data to satisfy long-term data retention requirements
- Enhanced diagnostics for first failure data capture
- Simplified and secure web-based portal for remote file-level recoveries
Spectrum Protect Plus V10.1.3 delivers new application support and performance enhancements:
- Optimized offload to Spectrum Protect Server
- New offload to IBM Cloud Object Storage and Cloud Object Storage System, as well as other public cloud-based object storage, for long-term data retention and DR
- Support for MongoDB enables protection and reuse of business-critical data stored in MongoDB databases
- Support for Exchange Server
- HA of Spectrum Protect Plus Server through VMware and Hyper-V HA services
- Enhanced RESTful API enables easier and faster time to value for reporting and analytics
Key requirements
Devices that are supported by Spectrum Protect (5725-W98), Spectrum Protect Extended Edition (5725-W99), and Spectrum Protect for Data Retention (5725-X15). Libraries that have more than 4 drives or more than 48 tape slots require a license for IBM Spectrum Protect Extended Edition.
