Rubrik Supports Amazon S3 Intelligent-Tiering Storage Class

Rubrik, Inc. announced support for the new Amazon S3 Intelligent-Tiering storage class.

This enables Rubrik customers to reduce the storage costs of archived data that is accessed infrequently. The offering provides enterprises with a single solution to protect and manage their data from on-premises to the cloud. The integration provides customers with an additional option to optimize their cloud archive storage costs.

Rubrik’s integration with the new S3 Intelligent-Tiering storage class is a big step forward in empowering companies to leverage the right class of storage by usage and by economics, while managing and accessing it seamlessly via Rubrik’s data control plane.“

Rubrik’s support for S3 Intelligent-Tiering adds to company’s portfolio
of integrated solutions on AWS including:

• CloudOut for Archival to AWS storage classes, including S3 Standard, S3 Standard-Infrequent Access (S3 Standard-IA), S3 One Zone-Infrequent Access (S3 One Zone-IA), S3 Reduced Redundancy Storage (RRS) and Amazon Glacier;
• CloudOn to instantiate applications and databases in AWS for DR, application migration, and test/dev;
• Native backup and data management of EC2 instances;
• Cloud Cluster for backing up EC2 instances running applications with data management needs (e.g. instances running SAP HANA); and
• Rubrik Datos IO for cloud backup and recovery of non-relational NoSQL databases (MongoDB, DataStax, Apache Cassandra) deployed natively on AWS.

Rubrik accelerates the cloud journey with a simple, unified solution for data protection and application mobility across data centers and clouds such as AWS.

In July, Rubrik achieved AWS Storage Competency. This elite designation recognizes that Rubrik provides technology to help customers achieve their data management goals on AWS-specifically via: backup and restore operations to, from, and within the AWS environment; active and passive data archiving capabilities; and BC/DR.
