IBM Storwize V5000 and V7000 utility models deliver new drive options and increased upgrade capabilities

Storwize V5000 and V7000 utility models deliver new drive capacity options, increased expansion enclosure support, and field upgrade capability.

Select Storwize V7000 flash drive capacity points are offered under new feature numbers for supply continuity purposes:

  • 1.92TB 12Gb SAS 2.5-inch flash drive
  • 3.84TB 12Gb SAS 2.5-inch flash drive
  • 7.68TB 12Gb SAS 2.5-inch flash drive
  • 15.36TB 12Gb SAS 2.5-inch flash drive

Key prerequisites
The only drives with a code version requirement in this announcement are the Storwize V7000 features delivered for supply continuity purposes. These drives require Spectrum Virtualize Software for Storwize V7000 V7.8.1.7, or later, for operation.

Planned availability dates:

  • November 23, 2018: Features AHHG, AHHH, AHHJ, AHHK, and ACVx for models 2076-24F, 2076-624, 2076-AF6, and 2076-AFF
  • December 25, 2018: All features for models 2076-U7A and 2078-U5A
