Lite-On Electronics, (Guangzhou) Ltd., Guangzhou, China, and Lite-On Technology Corporation, Taipei, Taiwan, has been assigned a patent (10,101,944) developed by Hsieh, Sheng-Jen, Hsu, Wei-Chi, Su, Chung-Ming, and Chuang, Sen-Ming, Taipei, Taiwan, for “solid state storage device and data writing method thereof.“

The abstract of the patent published by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office states: “A data writing method for a solid state storage device is provided. The solid state storage device includes a flash memory with plural blocks. The data writing method includes the following steps. Firstly, a flush command is received. Then, host write data in a buffer are stored into an open block of the flash memory according to a program order. Then, a garbage collection is performed to acquire collected write data from a close block of the flash memory and temporarily store the collected write data into the buffer. Then, the host write data and the collected write data in the buffer are stored into the open block of the flash memory according to the program order.”
