Tree recovery method, controller and recording medium for software-defined network
Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI), Hsinchu, Taiwan, has been assigned a patent (10,103,968) developed by Hsiao, Tai-Hua, Hsinchu, Taiwan, for “tree recovery method, controller and recording medium for software-defined network.“

The abstract of the patent published by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office states: “A tree recovery method for a software-defined network, (SDN) adapted to an SDN controller is provided. The tree recovery method includes: establishing topology information based on a current SDN topology and storing the topology information in a storage of the SDN controller, receiving a failure message reporting a failure link of the SDN, a plurality of network nodes of the topology information are classified into at least one losing nodes and at least one remaining node according to the failure link, and calculating and linking the at least one losing node to the at least one remaining node by using the topology information stored in the storage.”

Recommending application parameter setting and system specification setting in distributed computation
Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI), Hsinchu, Taiwan, has been assigned a patent (10,102,098) developed by Yeh, Chao-Chun, Kaohsiung, Taiwan, Chang, Sheng-An, Pingtung, Taiwan, and Lin, Xuan-Yi, Taichung, Taiwan, for “method and system for recommending application parameter setting and system specification setting in distributed computation.“

The abstract of the patent published by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office states: “ method and a system for recommending an application parameter setting and a system specification setting in a distributed computation are provided. The method includes the following steps. An application information, a framework information and a system information are received. Whether a performance model which includes a relationship of a performance, the application information, the framework information and the system information is stored in a storage unit is determined. The application parameter setting and the system specification setting are obtained according to the performance model, if the performance model is stored in the storage unit.”
