Michael Hon-Mong VP and GM, Acronis Europe

Acronis International GmbH appointed Michael Hon-Mong as VP and GM for Acronis Europe.

He has previously worked for Acronis in various sales, marketing and management positions. During that time he ensured double-digit sales growth through various sales and strategic measures. He was instrumental in building the organisation and positioning the Acronis brand as a provider of cyber protection solutions in the European market.

Before returning to Acronis, he was responsible for Central and Eastern Europe as MD of Unitrends GmbH.

“Active in IT distribution since 1997, Michael fits perfectly with the Acronis growth strategy with his extensive knowledge of the market and a wealth of experience in the European IT business. We are very excited to have him back on the team,” said John Zanni, president.

The company is expanding its European presence, recently announcing a new office and R&D centre in Sofia, Bulgaria.

Hon-Mong will lead the company into the next stage of development, growing its engineering base and meeting the needs of local partners and customers.

The firm provides secure backup, adding AI-based ransomware protection and blockchain-based data authentication to its products for services providers and enterprise users. It addresses the five vectors of cyber protection – safety, accessibility, privacy, authenticity, and security (SAPAS) – and offers easy, efficient, and secure products to European customers.

He will be based in the Munich, Germany, office, but will be travelling to London, UK, quite often.
