Datto Founder Austin McChord Steps Aside as CEO

Datto, Inc., announced that its founder Austin McChord will step aside as CEO of the company.

Tim Weller, Datto president and COO will lead company’s strategic and daily operations while an executive search is completed.

McChord will step away from the day-to-day management of the business, but will remain a member of the board of directors and a major shareholder of Datto. In this capacity, he will continue to be actively involved with the company.

“I founded Datto 11 years ago in a basement. What started out as an entrepreneurial dream, has grown into a team of 1,400 employees serving more than 14,000 MSPs with reach in 132 countries,” he said. “I’m proud of the company we have built and our commitment to the MSPs we serve.
