Commvault GO: Commvault Command Center Software

Commvault, Systems, Inc. unveiled the Command Center, redefining the enterprise software interface and becoming the single customer engagement console across the company’s full solutions portfolio.

The application of AI and machine learning to analyze and automate tasks required to manage data operations requires a new approach to interacting with data management software, one that shifts the paradigm to a focus on business and operational outcomes. The announcement was made in Nashville, TN, at Commvault GO 2018, the company’s annual customer conference, and the interface will be provided to all new and existing customers in December.

The Command Center takes traditional web-based interfaces to the next level, redefining the modern user experience (UX) by combining the company’s HTML-5 interface with continuous improvement from AI and ML into a new experience focused on business and operational outcomes. Additional capabilities like analytics and visualization, role-based operational control and security, interactive and proactive dashboards and orchestration work together with the firm’s data management software delivering solutions that work for the user while also helping the user work.

The company said the Command Center combines how users engage with their data management software to gain insight and control over their managed data, with streamlined onboarding, protection, recovery and orchestrated outcomes for their enterprise data environment. This solutions management experience provides tracking, analysis, and understanding of key performance indicators monitoring the health and status of the the firm’s solution, the customers’ data environment, and the defined user objectives and outcomes.

The Command Center sets the benchmark for an user experience with the ability to define the necessary outcomes for workloads and data within the software and allow AI and ML to take over the tedious and often repetitive tasks required to achieve daily success. By focusing on objectives and outcomes, it simplifies the user experience.

Analyzing daily jobs, events, and logs for day to day operational success changes to managing based on exception that is driven by operational anomalies highlighted within the real time solution execution. Through highly involved data calculations, the software will adjust as necessary to ensure the desired goals are met and will alert on issues that will require user interaction for resolution. This intelligence shifts the user focus to only the key impact issues that may be adversely affecting operations and outcome delivery. This level of built in intelligence enables IT organizations to build trust and confidence in their recovery readiness by measuring the success of data management operations against business goals and SLAs in real time.

The company said the Command Center would introduce a range of strategic dashboards for recovery, operations, storage, appliances and more, and a set of capabilities, spanning areas like autonomous operations, recovery readiness, to cloud migration and more. For multi-tenant environments, role specific or personalized views are provided allowing specific users to run and monitor their assets within the firm’s environment with extensive visualization of KPIs, utilization, and operational health specific to their workloads.

The firm also said the solution would simplify the enterprise recovery of applications and data by automating the orchestration of the entire recovery process. New capabilities built upon continuous learning built into the software delivers proactive alerting with interfaces abilities via voice, text, email and through human interface devices like Amazon Alexa.

Availability
The Command Center will be the complete customer interaction approach for the portfolio of the company’s solutions including the firm’s Complete Backup & Recovery, Orchestrate, HyperScale and Activate. It will be provided to existing and new customers at no additional charge, reflecting the company’s commitment to innovation and customer value. The Command Center will be delivered to customers starting in December with Service Pak 14.
