Bytec Distributor of StorMagic in Germany

StorMagic recruits Thorsten Schäfer as sales manager and Tobias Pföhler as partner manager.

StorMagic, Inc. expands of its DACH (Germany, Austria and Switzerland) sales region by signing a distributor agreement with Bytec Bodry Technology GmbH, a large server and storage distributor in Germany.

Bytec and its hardware partners can offer complete solutions pre-configured with StorMagic SvSAN with Data Encryption, a common method of helping to meet EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) compliance.

StorMagic is a global provider of software-defined storage with a focus on hyperconverged solutions, offering reliability, simple installation and low hardware requirements at an attractive price,” said Reinhold Egenter, Bytec’s MD. “StorMagic is an ideal fit for our resellers, most of whom are Fujitsu or Lenovo partners. Our VARs can now offer a complete, affordable HCI solution to customers, who previously couldn’t adopt HCI configurations because the market options were too large and expensive for them.

To support growth in the DACH region, StorMagic hired two Germany-based, dedicated sales team members to interface with local customers, partners and distributors.

Thorsten SchäferThorsten Schäfer joins as StorMagic sales manager to oversee all sales initiatives in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. He brings fifteen years’ experience in the software-defined storage and virtualization markets, including business development, consulting, engineering, systems administration and country and regional management for companies like Bechtle and DataCore Software.

Tobias PföhlerTobias Pföhler will serve as StorMagic’s partner manager, to oversee partner engagement and enablement. Pföhler previously held field sales management and account management roles with software, virtualization and IT solutions companies including ATOSS Software AG, DataCore Software and BWG Informationssysteme GmbH.

Germany and the broader DACH market is a critical part of StorMagic’s go-to-market strategy and we are committed to increasing our investment now and in the future,” said John Glendenning, SVP sales and business development, StorMagic. “Adding Bytec to extend our distribution coverage opens up the StorMagic SvSAN solution to the Fujitsu and Lenovo channels and reaffirms our commitment to being 100% channel focused. The partnership with Bytec will offer customers solution options not previously available, backed by Bytec’s exceptional services. Combining this with StorMagic’s increased investment in local field resource establishes the right platform to successfully execute StorMagic’s Preferred Partner Program across the entire DACH territory.
