After Unitrends, Kaseya Acquires Spanning Cloud Apps

Kaseya Ltd., provider of IT infrastructure management solutions for MSPs and internal IT organizations, announced the acquisition of Spanning Cloud Apps LLC, provider of SaaS data protection.

Founded in 2010, Spanning Cloud Apps has more than 10,000 active MSP and enterprise customers worldwide, 50% Y/Y growth, and in 2017, the company’s solutions backed up more than 110 billion items.

Spanning will retain its HQs in Austin, TX and will operate as a stand-alone, independent business unit under Kaseya.

Kaseya’s M&A strategy ensures that each new acquisition culminates with an integrated solution set that further strengthens the Kaseya IT Complete platform to reinforce the success of both MSPs and the enterprise.

With the announcement of this acquisition, Kaseya introduces a new integrated solution, Kaseya Office 365 Backup powered by Spanning. The offering allows Kaseya users to provide a fcomprehensive backup and DR solution for Microsoft Office 365. This offering also enables MSPs to create additional revenue streams related to their customers’ need to backup and secure their Office 365 environments.

Now a part of the Kaseya Unified Backup Suite, Kaseya Office 365 Backup integrates with the Kaseya IT Complete platform and is available as an integrated module within VSA by Kaseya, the company’s remote monitoring and management solution. The offering provides a single, unified solution designed to empower Kaseya users to fulfill their Office 365 backup needs.
