Gigabyte NVMe M.2 PCIe SSD Series
128, 256 and 512GB
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on September 27, 2018 at 2:11 pmGigabyte Technology Co. Ltd has added NVMe PCIe M.2 SSDs to its storage lineup following the positive reception to its first SATA series.
With different storage capacities to choose from, these SSDs adhere to the firm’s ultra durable and product stability standards, delivering stable and effective SSD performance.
The initial batch of the company’s M.2 SSDs are available in three capacities, 128, 256, and 512GB sizes.
These SSDs adopt 2280 mainstream specifications and operate by way of the PCIe Gen3 x2 M.2 transmission interface, removing the need for power and transmission cables that are used with traditional SATA SSDs.
Installation of these M.2 devices are more straightforward and the lack of cables makes way for improved airflow and heat dissipation inside the casing, strengthening the overall performance of these devices.
NVMe architecture allows for superior R/W speeds compared to SATA SSDs and with M.2 Thermal Guards on the firm’s motherboards, M.2 devices offer improved performance at a value for those who want to upgrade from SATA SSDs to NVMe M.2 SSDs without breaking the bank.
To provide users with stable and standout storage performance, the company tested these M.2 devices on the firm’s motherboards with various chip sets and high-loading software. The M.2 devices must undergo and clear extreme temperature and pressure stress tests to ensure their quality and durability.
