Promise VTrak D5000 Series Unified Storage System

Promise Technology Inc. announced the VTrak D5000 Series unified storage system that delivers scalability, flexibility and affordability for the mid-tier while minimizing the TCO.

The VTrak D5000 series comes in four models D5300/D5320 (2RU), D5600 (3RU), and D5800 (4RU) giving users the flexibility on form factor.

The VTrak D5000 features an integrated combination of performance hardware, adaptive storage software, flexible protocols and application-dependent front and backend connectivity. It also simplifies storage environments by consolidating SAN and/or NAS clients on the same storage solution needing FC and iSCSI connections.

Additional features include:

Storage services: such as snapshot, online capacity expansion, flash cache, thin/thick clones and thin/thick volumes.
Unlock power of flash cache: gives users the option to add flash cache for read and write acceleration. The company’s intelligent data caching automatically promotes hot data to cache in real time to get the benefit of flash performance.
Consolidate infrastructure: massively scale up to 512 drives. Features flexible 10GbE and optional 8/16G FC, with 6G SAS/SATA and 12G SAS interfaces.
Superior value: Accelerate enterprise applications – reduce latency and speed-up operations with up to 50% higher performance.

Availability:
The VTrak D5000 Series with iSCSI and NAS configurations will be available shortly in North America through the company’s network of resellers, with FC configurations scheduled to ship in Fall 2018. All-inclusive pricing encompasses hardware, software and three years of next business day service (USA and CA only) to make determining the cost simple and predictable.
