Anthony Yeates EMEA Sales, Acromove

Appointment of UK native Anthony Yeates is a strategic move to drive growth, as Acromove Inc. addresses the expanding need for portable, rugged computing systems.

He brings his background in computer hardware and software sales throughout Europe, the Middle East, and Africa to computer manufacturer, headquartered in Los Angeles, CA.

He will report to SVP WW sales Steve Crouch, effective immediately.

Yeates met Crouch when he was with OSNEXUS, a software-defined storage company. He knows the issues when moving large datasets between remote sites and datacenters from his experience with Infinidat, Panasas and Spectra Logic in their EMEA markets which also put him in contact with big data clients in the region

Yeates’ primary focus will be on the oil and gas vertical market, which generates terabytes of data daily at offshore oil rigs, marine data acquisition vehicles, and drilling platforms in remote locations. ServerPack 35 by Acromove is a weatherproof, shockproof, high capacity NAS used to collect data generated by sensors and cameras on the site; then the server can be shipped securely to the central depository for off-loading.

As Yeates pointed out in a recent interview, “the industry uses LTO tape quite a bit to move their data … But the data is getting so huge, and needs to be rapidly transferred, which tape is not known for. However, using Acromove servers increases capacity and speed to move critical data. Clients in the Middle East are especially receptive to this solution.”

Yeates’ first assignment was to represent Acromove at the 80th EAGE Annual Conference and Exhibition in Copenhagen, Denmark, in June 2018 This is an annual event of the European Association of Geoscientists & Engineers, which draws more than 6,000 geophysicists, geologists, and big data scientists, and their organizations, both commercial and public.
