IBC: Elements Supports Quantum StorNext 6

Company to demonstrate media storage and server solutions

Elements (Syslink GmbH), developer of solutions for unrestricted collaboration in shared media workflows, announced that its entire suite of human-centered media storage and server appliances is available with StorNext 6, the latest release of Quantum’s file system.

Elements’ entire product portfolio, including this latest development, will be demonstrated at IBC 2018.

StorNext file system, specifically designed for the media & entertainment industry, has been tightly integrated into Elements’ appliances for more than 10 years.” says André Kamps, CEO, Elements. “We’re delighted to offer our customers the latest version, as it complements our on-board features perfectly. StorNext supports our media storage solutions with new functionalities that tune and optimize performance across all client workstations on the fly, and also frees up space by automatically removing file copies from different storage tiers. The new FlexSync option provides the capability to synchronize data between multiple StorNext systems in a highly manageable and automated fashion, without the need for full file system scans.

In addition, the company will showcase its set of workflow enhancement tools that are embedded in all of its appliances, including the Elements Media Library media asset management (MAM) tool. Media Library is capable of leveraging cognitive AI engines powered by Veritone, Inc. to analyze, dissect, and index video and audio assets through automated monitoring to detect faces, objects, logos and much more, eliminating the need for manual tagging and logging. Automatic speech-to-text transcriptions are possible enabling productive and intuitive searches of assets stored on the central media storage.
