Igneous Systems: Integration With Primary Tier NAS

Qumulo File Fabric, Dell EMC Isilon OneFS, Pure Storage FlashBlade

Igneous Systems, Inc. announced several integration ‘firsts’ with primary tier NAS.

Igneous Solution Apps

The company offers enhanced direct integration with Qumulo, Inc.File Fabric (QF2), multi-protocol support for Dell EMC, part of Dell Technologies,’s Isilon OneFS, and Pure Storage, Inc.‘s FlashBlade object support.

All enhancements use the firm’ API capabilities simplifying the setup, management and maintenance of unstructured data protection for today’s digital enterprises. The integration extends the company’ data protection as-a-service solutions to cover more data types and protocols.

In addition to already available API-based integration with Pure Storage FlashBlade NAS, the company announced a data protection solution capable of supporting Pure FlashBlade object storage.

Many new machine learning and artificial intelligence (ML/AI) workflows rely on object storage, and Pure provides a high-performance, low-latency option for them” said Kiran Bhageshpur, CEO, Igneous. “Igneous now enables customers to complete their object-based ML/AI pipelines with high-density, high-performance data protection and automated data movement.

The company also announced API integration with QF2 by Qumulo – another industry first. Today, many Qumulo customers utilize replication for data protection, lacking the ability to integrate with other protection methods. The firm’s API-based integration with QF2 fills that gap by enabling seamless local copy and fast restore of all data on Qumulo systems across the enterprise.

We continue to rely on our partnership with Igneous to protect our customers’ data at scale.” said Aaron Cardenas, CEO, P1 Technologies. “With this new integration, we can now offer automated discovery of new exports as they are created, so our customers continually stay on top of data protection SLAs. Igneous complements the Qumulo replication capabilities for customers needing true data protection.

Finally, the company announced a multi-protocol support for Isilon OneFS. Organizations using both SMB and NFS concurrently on Isilon can protect all of their data while retaining both permission sets through a single backup.

For our customers managing high volume and change rates of their unstructured data, a modern approach to data management is essential,” Bhageshpur says. “Multi-protocol support for Isilon makes it easy for our customers to expand data protection across all data residing on OneFS regardless of the underlying application and OS.
