Greg DiFraia Field CTO, Scality

Previously with Dell EMC, most recently CTO, Elastic Cloud Storage

Scality, Inc. created the new role of field CTO to help customers and prospects navigate the challenges of managing information at petabyte-to-exabyte scale, and brought on Greg DiFraia, a storage industry veteran and acknowledged expert, to fill this role.

Having the right people and skill sets is the key to success in today’s tech industry, especially in the fast-emerging world of multi-cloud data management,” said Giorgio Regni, CTO. “We are incredibly excited to have Greg on board in this new role, where he will apply his depth and breadth of technical and strategic expertise with his exceptional communication skills to bring value to our customers and community.

Previously with Dell EMC, most recently in the role of CTO, Elastic Cloud Storage (ECS), DiFraia led the global sales strategy for the ECS software-defined storage platform. As VP of strategic alliances at Turbonomic, a hybrid cloud workload automation developer, he has had a front-row seat to see the emerging challenges of multi-cloud.

Customers today are under immense pressure to help drive down costs while providing innovation and agility to support the goals of their businesses via IT and digital transformation,” said DiFraia. “Scality’s multi-cloud data management technology is brilliant and will be a critical component in helping customers achieve these complex goals. Between that and the solid software-defined storage RING – and the accolades Scality is getting from analysts – it was clear that it was time. I’m excited to get out there and help customers and prospects work through solving the problems of today while providing a path for innovation.”

We’re leading the way as companies seek ways to make more from their data,” said Jerome Lecat, CEO. “Greg will be a huge asset, helping those customers understand the challenges and pitfalls of the solutions out there, to help speed their transitions to more cost-effective software-defined storage, not only increasing and accelerating their adoption of object storage, but also helping them see new ways to leverage clouds and expand their multi-cloud IT.
