The Celerity Gen 6 HBAs enable native support for FC NVMe protocol for servers running enterprise Linux. The company’s HBAs support both FCP and FC-NVMe simultaneously. Additionally, Celerity Gen 6 HBAs feature native target mode drivers for those building out NVMe storage solutions.

“With participation from our members companies such as Atto Technology, FCIA is demonstrating the ability to transport NVMe over FC concurrently with existing SAN traffic at Flash Memory Summit,” said Mark Jones, president, FCIA, and director, technical marketing and performance, Broadcom Inc.The FC-NVMe specification demonstrates that FC is expanding its massive existing base while continuing to offer significant advantages to customers including a maximum ROI, superior performance and manageability.

NVMe is a protocol designed to take advantage of flash/SSD technology by streamlining I/O procedures. NVMe allows users to unlock the potential of flash storage technology to produce performance. FC-NVMe takes this new protocol to the fabric allowing NVMe storage to be shared over SANs.

Designed for high performance and non-volatile storage media, NVMe is the only protocol that can meet the demands of today’s compute intensive environments,” said Mike Heumann, managing partner, G2M Communications, Inc.With significant growth in several segments such as server, storage and networking implementations, we predict that the NVMe market will easily exceed $57 billion by 2020.

The Celerity Gen 6 FC HBAs are ready to take advantage of the latest innovations in flash/SSD technology and ready to address the challenges created by exponential data growth and the desire for faster and more efficient connectivity solutions. Engineered to manage latency for real-time applications, Celerity FC HBAs with Advanced Data Streaming (ADS) technology provide controlled acceleration of data to deliver high consistent performance and reliable data transfers.

Our decades-long experience of delivering reliable first-to-market FC storage connectivity solutions means that storage OEMs and users can now benefit from proven advances in high-performance storage access,” said Tom Kolniak, senior director, marketing, ATTO. “With the addition of FC-NVMe support for Gen 6 ATTO Celerity FC HBAs we are laying the foundation for tomorrow’s all-flash datacenters today allowing storage OEMs to gain additional options to address today’s complex storage challenges“.

Combining Parodyne’s ESOS platform and ATTO 32Gb Celerity FC HBAs with the support of NVMe fabric technology provides a very high performance, low latency, and cost effective all-flash SAN disk array solution that meets the demands of today’s performance intensive cloud workload environments,” said Marc A. Smith, CTO, Parodyne, Inc.

The company will be showing a live demonstration at Flash Memory Summit. The firm will also be in the FCIA booth.
