As a recognized leader in the field of new memory, he brings more than 30 years experience in advanced semiconductor memories, including senior management positions at both Intel and Micron.

He has been a member of Nantero’s advisory board since 2015, during which time the company secured many new customers, added new strategic investors such as Dell Technologies Capital and Cisco Investments, and saw Fujitsu’s announcement of near-term NRAM volume production.

Ed’s extensive industry experience is invaluable to Nantero,” said Greg Schmergel, co-founder and CEO, Nantero. “As we work with multiple customers on a range of different products for different market segments, his deep understanding of the customer and application landscape will be critical.”

Added Doller: “Nantero’s NRAM has a unique balance of better-than-DRAM price/bit, DRAM-like performance, and nonvolatility, which no other technology offers in one package. This makes NRAM exciting for a range of markets from enterprise systems to mobile devices, not to mention upcoming applications such as AI, and I am excited to be part of the team bringing this technology to market.”

About Ed Doller
He is a storage industry expert and veteran with over 32 year’s experience in the space. He was most recently a corporate officer at Micron Technology, which offers the industry’s broadest portfolio of silicon-to-semiconductor solutions – starting with foundational DRAM, NAND, and NOR Flash memory, and extending to SSDs, modules, MCPs, HMCs, 3D Point, and other semiconductor systems. There he held the role of VP and chief strategist NAND solutions group where he was in charge of strategy and product portfolio for the segment.

Prior to that, he served with Micron as VP and GM enterprise storage and also served as VP and chief memory systems architect with the company. He joined Micron in May 2010 from Numonyx where he served as CTO after its formation in 2008. Before Numonyx, he had a variety of roles in the Flash memory group at Intel, and then was appointed its CTO in 2004. Prior to Intel, he held several key positions at IBM in East Fishkill, NY, all in advanced semiconductor memories.

He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in computer engineering from Purdue University. He has more than 30 years of experience in semiconductor memories, holds multiple patents, is a co-author of the IEEE floating gate standard, and is a frequent keynote speaker at memory conferences.
