Qnap Plex Media Server App Supporting ARMv8 64-Bit Processor Based NAS

Plex for NAS with ARMv8/Realtek platforms alpha testing in progress

Qnap Systems, Inc. announces that Plex will be supported by the company’s ARMv8 64-bit NAS models.

Alpha testing is currently in process and we invite QNAP users to be Plex Pass holders.

By providing official support for Plex on ARMv8 64-bit firm’s NAS, users of these NAS (especially the multimedia-focused TS-128A, TS-228A and TS-328) will enjoy a one-stop entertainment portal alongside complete file storage and multimedia applications.

With the Plex Media Server app (available from the QTS App Center) setting up NAS as a Plex Media Server is easy, and allows users to stream media files from their NAS to mobile devices, DLNA-compatible devices, and TV by using common streaming devices (including Roku, Apple TV, Google Chromecast, and Amazon Fire TV).

Company’s NAS with ARMv8 64-bit platform:

  • Realtek processor: TS-128A, TS-228A, TS-328

  • Marvell ARMADA 8040 processor: TS-1635AX

  • Annapurna Labs Alpine AL-324 processor: TS-832X, TS-932X, TS-432XU, TS-432XU-RP, TS-832XU, TS-832XU-RP, TS-1232XU, and TS-1232XU-RP.
