Timothy Smith SVP and GM of Backup Business Unit, j2 Cloud Services

j2 Cloud Services, Inc., a division of j2 Global, Inc., appointed Timothy Smith to SVP and GM of its backup business unit.

He is a technology executive with experience in the storage industry. He previously served as VP, platforms business management at Western Digital Corporation. Prior to that, he held several senior positions at EMC Corporation, where he worked over 10 years, including serving as VP, global platform operations – business development and VP, global supply management. Before entering into the storage space, he worked in the investment banking industry with both Lehman Brothers and the Credit Suisse First Boston Technology Group covering storage and other IT companies.

Smith earned his undergraduate degree in Business Management from Tulane University and an MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management.
