Effective April 30, 2019, IBM Corp. announced end of service for IBM System Storage VFT Mainframe, V3.0.0 (5655-V43) and IBM System Storage VFT Mainframe S&S, V1.0.0 (5655-V44) in Software Withdrawal Announcement 918-004, dated February 6, 2018.
Effective April 30, 2019, IBM will implement end of service for the IBM System Storage VTF Mainframe, a software product which creates a virtual tape environment for z/OS. The end of service notification was released in Software Withdrawal Announcement 918-004, dated February 6, 2018.
To help protect our VTFM customers install base and current investments, the company announced a newly formed partnership with Log-On Software Limited, an Israeli firm in building and maintaining tools in the IBM Mainframe market. Log-On has announced plans to enhance and maintain VTF Mainframe and to support current and new z/OS versions as they become available.
Log-On has been in the mainframe market for over 30 years and have more than 550 specialists who possess a large range of skills and experience with IBM Mainframe software and hardware. As a development partner of IBM, Log-On Software has access to the most current versions of infrastructure software and hardware needed to maintain IBM mainframe tools.
