CTI Global Increases Data Protection Footprint

With Asigra as business concerns over data privacy and GDPR compliance surge

Asigra Inc., a cloud backup, recovery and restore software provider since 1986, announced that CTI Global, an established MSP offering data protection services powered by Asigra, is supporting businesses in response to the European Union’s data privacy rules.

The CTI Global backup/recovery service leverages Asigra’s cloud backup platform optimized for compliance to address concerns over backup data privacy protection, data sovereignty, and adherence with the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR).

CTI Global is an International IT services company headquartered in Ireland with multiple locations in the US, as well as the Caribbean and the UK. The company was founded in 1998 to help organizations implement reliable and flexible cloud services based on open standards and commercial products. Over the last two decades, CTI has assisted government bodies, states, NGO’s, non-profits and hundreds of large, SMBs design and deploy such solutions. Through consistent organic growth and the execution of a prudent merger and acquisition strategy over time, CTI has expanded its service offerings and capabilities and is recognized by its international customer base as a managed services company in compliant data protection and security.

With nearly all customers under one or more data privacy mandates, the ability to secure backup data and allocate customer repositories within the customer’s locality are key requirements. In response, Asigra Cloud Backup Evolved (version 14) delivers powerful capabilities to protect organizations. First, the Asigra platform converges data protection and IT security for malware detection and offers the first ransomware Attack-Loop preventative technology. The solution provides bi-directional malware detection, zero-day exploit protection, variable repository naming, and two-factor authentication (2FA) for a full defensive suite against advanced cyber-attacks on backup data. This is complemented by FIPS 140-2 certification and military-grade data encryption for enterprise-grade data security.

Data sovereignty is another regulatory challenge that moves organizations toward the advantages of CTI Global. The term refers to digital data that is subject to the laws or legal jurisdiction of the country or region in which it is stored. Due to the fact that privacy regulations are not the same in every country, organizations are required to pay attention to where their data is stored and know the exact location to ensure compliance within their jurisdiction, mitigating legal and financial risks. With CTI Global’s cloud backup solution powered by Asigra, the business specifies the location of the backup data, giving the customer complete control over data sovereignty.

Many organizations do not have their backup processes fully situated for the latest round of data privacy mandates,” said Mark Donnellan, VP of global sales, CTI Global. “However, with severe financial penalties as punishment for violations, this is making compliance an imperative. CTI Global’s partnership with Asigra delivers the required approach for organizations serious about managing regulatory concerns.

An organization’s backup process performs a vital function as part of implementing a robust compliance management strategy that won’t excessively burden day-to-day business operations,” said Eran Farajun, EVP, Asigra. “Our partnership with CTI Global validates this with CTI’s deployments numbering in the hundreds of organizations that are protected with GDPR compliance-ready backup processes.
